College and little boys
I had dinner with two of my college friends that were visiting from out of town. It was nice. I had a glass of wine and was a little tipsy. Doesn’t take me much. I kept serving them both, but dropping things everywhere. Drop drop drop drop drooop droooooop.
I had a bad day at work. It happens! On days like this, I usually go home and cry underneath my pillows. Sometimes I cry for no reason, but it feels good because I’m so exhausted all the time. This is something my best friend’s 11 year old cousins make fun of me for. The one that’s 9 years old called me fat. LOL! I am quite petite! It’s so offensive yet untrue that it’s probably the most hilarious and refreshing thing I’ve heard in a few weeks. When I first demonstrated to them how I cry after work, they asked me what my job entails. To describe one aspect of my work, which sometimes includes virtual worlds, I hastily summarized and said that I work with video games. It’s not really true, but it’s the best way to describe one aspect of my work to an 11 year old. One of them looked at me with the most confused expression on his face and asked,
What is there to cry about when you work with video games?
2008 has been a series of ownage, and it’s only half over! I hope 2009 brings bigger and better things.
