dealbreakers
July 16, 2008
Sorry I’ve been MIA the last week or two– been traveling and entertaining some guests out here on the west coast. However, here is a post I’ve been meaning to write for a long time, so I hope you enjoy it.
Deal breakers. I’m not talking about an M&A deal here on Wall Street that just fell through because the bid was too low, or the two companies couldn’t combine without major problems. The idea is the same though. Here is my list of things that will get me uninterested in just about any girl, which means that there will never be a relationship in the cards. Some of these will sound pretty logical, while others will just seem ridiculous. However, here they are… (not in any specific order. any and all of these would be a dealbreaker)
1. girls who think they are hotter than they actually are. this might be my #1. i just can’t stand it when a girl thinks she’s hot sh*t, when in actuality, she’s not, but moreover, her friends are a lot hotter than she is. you tend to encounter girls like this a lot in LA, who think they look like 10’s with their large Gucci sunglasses, but really, they look like 6’s with the sunglasses, then with the shades off, they look like 3’s. definitely just overrating themselves by 7 points, which is pretty bad. another topic for discussion sometime should be whether nice sunglasses make girls look better, which i think is a yes.
2. uncultured mannerisms. i mean, this doesn’t apply to girls only, but really applies to anyone. don’t talk when you are chewing. don’t play with your food. when you are at a nice restaurant, please speak to the waiter like you are educated, and not like you’ve never been out in public before. if you want to be a princess, which i don’t necessarily have a problem with, you should act like one. oh yeah, sorry, but definitely a double standard here. there are just certain things appropriate for girls, and certain things appropriate for guys. i don’t make the rules.
3. speaks english well. this used to be speaks english perfectly, until i remember that i’d definitely go for girls who have hot accents– whether that’s english, austraillian, brazillian.. doesn’t matter. however, there are accents from certain countries and regions of the world that i can’t stand, many of those from the asian countries. sorry, but if things are going to work out, i need to be able to stand the way you speak.
alright, there are a bunch more, but i’m pretty tired of writing. i can tell you that some of my other dealbreakers are probably just girls who are way too uptight to have fun, and girls who are too clingy, or need to know what their boyfriends are doing every minute of the day.
list some of your dealbreakers in the comments section if you’d like.
damn you are such an elitist. get over yourself. haha actually i do agree with some of your observations especially #1.
i don’t like socially awkward guys – guys i can’t take to events. and i don’t like guys that are louder than me, cuz damn, that would be a competition for sure. also, he can’t be shorter than me – that probably matters the most. he should also cry less than i do. if he doesn’t like food, he’s also toast. i have more, but i have my own blog entry to write!!
def if he’s shorter than me. That’s a dealbreaker.
