do you know what grinds my gears?

family guy reference.  calvin gave me the title.

anyways, time for a post.  had dinner last night with darla and calvin, and remarked how this is now a darla and friends blog… not her fault; the guys are just lazy as hell when it comes to posting haha.

with that brief introduction out of the way, you must be wondering, what grinds my gears?  well, as all of you know, facebook has become probably the most popular place for posting picture albums.  most of the time when i am bored (which is all the time right now), i will check out a newly posted album if its on my news feed.  as i’m checking out these albums, i can’t help but be annoyed when i see other girls remark about their girlfriends– “omg, you look so hot in this picture!”, or “wow, you make me feel ugly because you look so good.”  anyways, the list goes on, but the main issue i have is that usually these comments are directed to girls that just don’t look that good in those pictures.  actually, they don’t look good in any of their pictures.  why can’t people just be objective, and if you have something good to say, say it only if it’s really true.  looking hot is mostly objective.  being attractive is much more subjective.

choice of words is hella important in this situation, and i don’t think you should go around and start putting down people if they don’t look that good, but just keep it real.  otherwise, those not so good looking girls actually start thinking they are hot, which never ends out well for anyone.  reserve the “you’re so hot” comments for the girls that are actually that hot.

  2. most girls need positive coments from their friends for a confidence boost. all girls love to be complimented, and they have to give them in order to get some back, regardless of whether or not the comment is true or not. then again, it could also just be a matter of opinion or taste.. or it could be just friends being nice to each other. however, i do agree with you.. keepin it real should be the underlying theme, as true friends would not bullshit each other.
